“Jingle all the Way” Down to holiday events in Cary

One can almost hear the “jingling of sleigh bells” off in the distance in the Town of Cary around this time of year, especially when just minutes from your family’s new dream house in the Preston Retreat luxury new home community in the downtown area, the season of celebration begins with a host of holiday events in Cary.

Saturday, December 1 will be the day where many of these highly anticipated annual holiday events in Cary begin, with something for family members and friends of all ages to enjoy. Making a full day of  “spreading the cheer” the fun starts at 10:00 am and will go on into the evening. The following are all events that will take place as part of the 2018 holiday events in Cary (with some actually starting a bit earlier than that Sunday):

Letters to Santa at Downtown Park

November 19-December 9

Jolly ol’ St. Nick will be using Downtown Park in Cary as a drop off point for all girls and boys to use his mailbox and get their lists off to be sure he makes a stop at their home on Christmas Eve. Little ones always enjoy this annual tradition as we prepare for Santa’s flight over Cary. Drop off letters in the Santa Mailbox in Downtown Park before December 10 and your child will hear back from our jolly man in red, just be sure to include name and return address and have all letters dropped in the mailbox by December 10.

Santa’s Workshop, Sat. December 1

10:00 am-12:30 pm (ages 10 and under with caregiver)

Herbert C. Young Community Center, 121 Wilkenson Avenue, Cary

Children can enjoy a variety of craft stations and a visit with the white bearded guy from the North Pole! While at Santa’s Workshop, you can support the Cary Teen Council’s food drive by sending each child with two non-perishable food items or a cash donation. All proceeds will be donated to charity. There will be a 20-minute break at 11:30 a.m. so Santa can feed his reindeer.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Variety Show, Sat. December 1

Town Hall Campus

Welcome in the holiday season with the official Christmas tree lighting for the Town of Cary. This festive night features actors, singers, and musicians from the community.
